My Spray-N-Grow Garden

Hello, New on this board. My dad is a professional grower and works 40 acres, he has used S&G for years and told me in this heat we all endured this summer to only apply S&G only...no Co-Co Wet or Perfect Fertilizer as it will burn the foliage

I guess he's right as his plants were over head high and mine suffered and lost the bottom half of their leaves, any comments and experiences are appreciated.

My only concern with not using Bill's Perfect Fertilizer is nutrition for the plants.  Remember, Spray-N-Grow does not containd NPK, but is a mix of micronutrients like iron, zinc, magnesium etc.  My guess is that your dad, as a professional grower, adds quite a bit of fertilizer to the soil in the form of composted manure, other compost, commercial fertilizer or he plows down a previous crop that adds natural nutrition to the soil and therefore feeds the plants.

I understand his concern, but I recommend using BPF as a drench in very hot weather.  Just mix in a bucket or watering can and pour around roots of plants.  This will give them the nutrition they need and will not harm the leaves, even in 100 degree weather.  Coco-Wet is a little different.  You can certainly live without it during extremely hot weather or maybe use a little less than usual.

Good luck!
