My Spray-N-Grow Garden

Looking forward to some much needed Rain!

There is a 50% chance of rain tomorrow and Wednesday, and that’s good news since we haven’t had a significant rain sine Aug 2008. However, it has been a good time to observe which local plants are holding up during a severe drought.

Driving around town I’ve noticed that Esperanza (Blue Bells) and Bougainvillea are remarkably drought tolerant. Plants that I know have not had any water are healthy and full of blooms. I think we will plant some around our new warehouse where water is limited and it’s really difficult to maintain five acres during these times. Firebush is another plant doing quite well., and the Humming Birds are flocking to them.

Also, Spray-N-Grow makes plants more drought resistant as it promotes improved plant health and significantly increases root mass.

Spray-N-Grow, Esperanza, Bougainvillea and Firebush, a xeriscape landscaper’s dream!
On the AG front, Prickly Pear Cactus, which always survives our droughts, are in danger because of a moth that came into the US from another country. Our farmers and ranchers have really suffered from the drought and now a darn bug is causing problems. We need rain and a bug eater.

Till next time,
Bill

well Bill that is part of the solution, however we need the government to stop spraying the barium and nanoized aluminum into the stratusphere. out here in northern california it is raising ther ph levels of the soil and killing off the ponderosa pine trees. monsanto has even manufactured a hybrid seed that is alluminum resistant for conventional farming.. do you have the same problems where you are at? i just wonder how much that spraying is affecting our home gardens?
