Get out there and plant something !

Martin Luther gave an interesting response when asked what he would do if he knew the end of the world would come the next day: "I would plant a tree". There may or may not be that much time left but in a world where MacMansions leave only a sorry apron of lawn between neighbors, I think I'll go plant a tree.

Tomato problems with blossom end rot and Hornworms

I have saved seed since 1944 and they usually average over 1 pound. My first garden in SC and the soil is dark black loam. The tomatoes are very small and most of them have end rot. What is the soil lacking? This week I picked off about 25 Hornworms so the plants have been stressed. Where do they come from?

Habanero Peppers

I have about 10 habanero pepper plants in my garden. The plants look wonderful, but there are no peppers on them. All my other peppers are producing just fine. Any thoughts about why just the habaneros would not produce?
