I love this photograph; so sweet!! My family had a Berner when I was a teenager, and Piper was one of the best dogs I've ever known. Great breed, and what a handsome fella you have there. ;)

This is a tomato hornworm. Normally, I would agree with Debra, as these bugs are voracious feeders. However, those white specks are the larva of a parasitic wasp. This wasp lays its eggs on the hornworm, and they feed on it. In this condition, the h…

My best friend, Angel. He is a bernese mountain dog. A most wonderful companion and protector. Gentle nature and a fantastic personality. I adore him and I get the feeling he adores me right back. (grin) LOVE HIM !

Hello Carmela! Thanks for adding me as a friend, and I appreciate all your compliments on my flowers!! A handful of the plants (clematis, bleeding heart, and the Korean Spice Viburnum shrub) were already there when I moved in; plus I found the hostas floating in a tub of putrid water in the garage, so I just planted them. Everything else has been in the ground for 3-4 years now. Yeah, the astillbe is one of the more fragile plants in my bed; the stems are always snapping on me!

I love your yard, too! It has the wonderful simplicity of a Japanese garden, and all your lilies are gorgeous!! :)
