Does it matter using Tap, or Distilled water when using SNG?

I always use tap water when I mex SNG and the Perfect Blend.  If you use distilled, you will have to add baking soda to get the color change.  The pH is just a little too low.

Unless you have a reason not to (you know of some chemical in the water at unusually high concentration), tap water is fine and easy!.

Do high levels of chlorine or chloramines impact SNG?

I wondered why I was not seeing the color change. I am using tap water and I just took its Ph....8.2...very alkaline. Do you think this is why there's no color change?
