My Spray-N-Grow Garden

Hello, everyone!  I'm happy to be a new member of this group.  I used Spray-N-Grow a couple of years back and had great results.  Family health problems have kept me from gardening for the last 2 years, but I'm back!  I've had some brush and trees cleared and am in the process of getting beds grubbed out.  I've found some things that I had planted before, still growing!  I live on a bay in Zone 8b, and in spite of the unusually cold winter, leaves are beginning to come out, and jonquils blooming.  Is it too early to start spraying?  My soil is very sandy, so fertilizer passes through rather quickly, that's why I like Spray-N-Grow.

Thanks!
Martha

I also have very sandy soil so I know what you mean about how fertilizer passing through quickly I live here in southern Ca.
I would say go for it because it would help.

I think as soon as the plants start poking though the dirt you can spray them.
With bulbs you can actually mix some SNG up put it in a bowl and soak your bulbs. they love it.
As for how long, I did it for maybe 10 minutes.
Just try it on a couple of bulbs and see if it makes a difference.
In zone 8 you need to apply SNG to perennials now and then at least once a month during the growing season. There is a cumulative affect on perennials from season to season.

Vegetables = early application (5-7 real leaf stage) is important for maximum yield increase. Then apply every 2-3 weeks through harvest.
Thanks, Bill! My SNG came yesterday, so I'll be out spraying tomorrow! Did I mention that my grandson wants to have his wedding in my yard in August-September 2010? I've uploaded some 'before' pictures, and hope to have some beautiful 'after' pictures later!
